Admission


The Genetics and Plant Breeding at UENF has entrance for graduate students at Master and Doctoral levels in the following research lines:  1- Plant Breeding; 2- Genomic Analysis and 3- Plant Genetic Resources. For more information, other than Application Procedures, please see the respective program descriptions.

 

Application deadlines

Courses are conducted on a semester basis. Application is made once a year with the beginning in the first semester.

For the first semester of 2019 the application period is from October 01 to November 12 of 2018.

 

Selective process

The international students should contact a potential Adviser according to the Research line of interest. There is not a formal Interview and written exams. The selective process is comparative and classificatory based on the analysis of the curriculum vitae, the official transcripts and the research plan. The research plan is of free format including: a- Introduction with focus on the research proposal and on the related literature; b- Objectives; c- Methodology; d- Expected results; e- Chronogram of development; f- Bibliography.

  2. 1 photo (3 x 4 cm), attached to the application form
  3. Birth or marriage certificate
  4. Fill the form Foreign Researcher Curriculum Vitae, updated and documentad
  5. Official transcripts from the undergraduate institution and from the graduate institution (Doctoral program applicants only).
  6. Foreign candidates approved for Master or Doctoral level must present diploma Copy recognized by Brazilian consulate in your country of origin, as well as other documents required for Academic Secretary of UENF at the registration time.
  7. Three reference letters of free format signed by people linked to the applicant’s university or to their professional activities (referral to the Program Coordination).
  8. Research plan.

 

Portuguese requirement

Foreign candidates coming from Portuguese Speaking Countries do not need to present proof of proficiency in Portuguese. Other Foreign applicants must prove proficiency in Portuguese, through approval Celpe -Bras test (http://portal.inep.gov.br/celpebras ), up to 06 ( SIX ) months after enrollment in the Graduate Program.

 

 Tuition and fees

The graduate studies provided by the UENF are non-tuitional. The application process, however, includes a R$50 (approx. 18 US Dollars) fee, which admitted international students can pay upon arrival.

Deadline for the result’s release: January 18, 2019 .
