PhD in Political Sociology from the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (UENF), with a concentration in State, Political Institutions, Market, and Inequality. Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and Master’s degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Holds technical training in environmental and environmental management certified by Centro Paula Souza – ETEC – Jacareí-SP, and in folklore from the Museum of Anthropology of the Paraíba Valley. Research supervisor for the Environmental Education Project PEA Pescarte (IBAMA/PETROBRAS/UENF) since 2021.

Nelson Lellis
PhD in Political Sociology from the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (UENF); Master’s in Religious Studies from Faculdade Unida de Vitória (FUV); postgraduate in Religious Education and undergraduate in Theology from FUV; degree/licensure in Sociology (CUF). Former Municipal Secretary of Education in Porciúncula-RJ. Independent researcher at Ateliê de Humanidades (an institution for study, research, writing, and education) and editor of the series “Religiões: enquadramentos e fronteiras” by Ateliê de Humanidades Editorial. Member of the Center for Studies on Representation and Democracy (N.E.R.D. / UENF), of the Unida Chair of Public Theology and Religious Studies Rev. João Dias de Araújo, and of the Observatory of Biblical Universes. Coordinator of the Machado de Assis Reading and Study Group (Ateliê de Humanidades). Currently, postdoctoral fellow at the Graduate Program in Political Sociology (UENF) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Roberto Dutra.
Luciana Barbosa

Lívio Silva de Oliveira
Postdoctoral researcher at the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense – Darcy Ribeiro (UENF), with a FAPERJ scholarship (CALL No. 17/2022 – Postdoctoral Nota 10). PhD and MA from the Graduate Program in Sociology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PPGS-UFRGS), funded by CAPES-PROEX (2012/1 to 2018/1). BA in Social Sciences from Universidade Candido Mendes – Institute of Humanities. Researcher linked to the Violence and Citizenship Research Group (IFCH – UFRGS). Member of the Working Group “Violencias, Gobierno y Democracia” at the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), where he worked as research fellow, lecturer, and diploma program coordinator (2021–2022). Served as substitute professor at the Federal University of Pelotas on two occasions: (1) from May 2023 to April 2025, in the undergraduate Psychology program (FAMED/UFPel); (2) in the Tourism undergraduate program (2019/1 and 2019/2) and in the specialization in Public Management and Regional Development (2019/2) at the Faculty of Administration and Tourism (FAT-UFPel). Works on violence, territorialization, and marginalization, with emphasis on class, race/ethnicity, and gender.

Bianca Gomes da Silva Muylaert Monteiro de Castro
PhD in Political Sociology and Master’s in Social Policies from the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (UENF). Holds degrees in Law and Social Sciences, with specializations in Human Rights Education, Inclusion Policies, and Public Law. University professor and researcher with extensive experience in interdisciplinary projects combining teaching, research, and outreach. Coordinates the Research Group on Human Rights and Accessibility and actively participates in academic networks promoting social justice. Researches human rights, disability inclusion, violence against women and its multiple manifestations, and critical criminology. Her academic career is marked by a commitment to gender equity, social justice, and the realization of rights in contexts of vulnerability. Currently conducting postdoctoral research at PPGSP/UENF, focusing on women’s underrepresentation in politics in Campos dos Goytacazes/RJ.

Réia Sílvia Gonçalves Pereira
Coordinator of the research project “faith and guns.” Leads the research group Encruzilhadas: violence, religion, and territory. Her dissertation was a finalist for the ANPOCS 2022 Award. Holds a postdoctoral degree in Political Sociology from UENF. Holds a BA in Social Communication and a degree in Social Sciences, an MA in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Espírito Santo, and a PhD in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2021). Currently works as a popular education consultant and researcher at the Laboratory of Transatlantic Africanities: Afro-Brazilian Culture, History, and Memory. CONFAP Award recipient.
