Research Lines

Line 1 – State, Political Institutions, Market and Inequality

This line covers studies on democracy, relations between the State and the market, political participation, and inequality. It focuses on the dynamics and networks of activity of civil society and social movements in the context of the transformations that have taken place in contemporary Brazil. It also includes research on political behavior and public policies in their different dimensions (policy, politics, and polity).

Line 2 – Culture, Territorialities, and Power

Contemplates research on cultural practices and social interactions, articulating theoretical and empirical dimensions. It covers studies that problematize artistic, religious, and intellectual expressions, dilemmas, controversies, and conflicts in public and institutional spaces. This line interacts with studies on territoriality and power, problematizing the “society-space-time” system in the contemporary era.
