PPGSP/ALACIP

Since September 2012, the administrative headquarters of the Latin American Political Science Association – ALACIP – has been operating at the Public Policy and Management Laboratory of the State University of the North Fluminense.

The transfer of the headquarters (which was at the Federal University of Minas Gerais) took place thanks to an agreement between Alacip and the Laboratory´s Administrators.

The Latin American Political Science Association – ALACIP is an international non-profit scientific organization, composed of academics, researchers, and professionals aimed at promoting the development of Political Science studies on Latin America and the Caribbean. In order to fulfill its functions, the Association takes into account the activities that are developed in the discipline at the international, regional, and sub-regional levels. The official languages ​​of ALACIP are Spanish and Portuguese.

Since ALACIP was installed at UENF, it has promoted the visit of a representative of the Judicial Power Group in Latin America and organized, together with the Institute of Social and Political Studies (IESP / UERJ) and Flacso Brasil, the Political and Society Seminar in America Latina, held in 2 stages, on December 6 and 7, 2012, at IESP, and on December 12 at UENF.

The seminar was attended by the general secretary of ALACIP – Professor Glaucio Soares and representatives of the groups Alacip Youth, States, Institutions, and Development and the Judiciary in Latin America. In addition to the participation of the groups, the graduate students in Political Sociology at UENF presented their projects and the results of their research.
