She holds a B.Sc. in Agronomy (1991) from the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV), an M.Sc. in Biological Sciences (Plant Biology) (1996), and a Ph.D. in Plant Biology (2001) from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (UENF) from 2001 to 2005. She has been a professor at the Fundação de Apoio à Escola Técnica (FAETEC) since 2005 and has been seconded to UENF since September 2011, where she teaches Plant Physiology. Her research focuses on brassinosteroids, the application and quantification of plant hormones (auxins, abscisic acid, and cytokinins), seedling development, and plant responses to biotic and abiotic stresses.
