Claudia Pombo Sudré
Holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), a specialization in Plant Pathology from UFRRJ, a Master’s degree in Plant Production, and a Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding (2009), both from the State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro Darcy Ribeiro (UENF).Since 1993, she has worked as a research support technician at UENF, and since 2003 specifically at the Plant Genetic Breeding Laboratory (LMGV/UENF). She has experience in the field of Agronomy, with an emphasis on plant genetic resources, breeding of vegetable crops for disease resistance, and plant–pathogen interactions. She assists in the maintenance of the germplasm bank of LMGV/UENF.
She is a member of the extension project “Shared Germplasm Management: A Pioneering Proposal between UENF and Family Farmers in the State of Rio de Janeiro” and of the project “Capsicum–Colletotrichum Interaction and Innovation in Agriculture: Development of Resistant Cultivars.” She participated in the development of nine pepper cultivars registered with the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA). She is a recipient of the CNPq Technological Development and Innovative Extension Productivity Fellowship (Level 2).

Marcela Santana Bastos Boechat
Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro Darcy Ribeiro (UENF), as well as a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Biosciences and Biotechnology from the same institution. She has experience in the fields of Immunology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, and Genomics. She serves as the technical coordinator of the Applied Genetics Sector at the Plant Genetic Breeding Laboratory (LMGV) of the State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro Darcy Ribeiro, where she conducts research focused on the application of molecular markers (SNP, SSR, SNAP, ISSR) in plant breeding programs.
She is also the co-founder of the company Agro Innova Genetic Analyses (MF Papaya), which provides innovative solutions for agribusiness through genetic analyses and is a pioneer in Brazil in the molecular sex determination of papaya. In 2024, she was a finalist in the FINEP Women Innovators Award, which recognizes women-led companies with significant social impact, achieving 3rd place as the most innovative company in the Southeast region of Brazil.

Ana Kesia Faria Vidal
Holds a degree in Agronomy (2016), a Master’s degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding (2018), and a PhD in Genetics and Plant Breeding (2022), all from the Darcy Ribeiro Northern Rio de Janeiro State University (UENF). Currently, she is a Research Support Technician at UENF’s Plant Breeding Laboratory (LMGV), where she works on research regarding popcorn breeding, with an emphasis on the evaluation of genotypes under abiotic stress.

Gustavo Ramos Monteiro
He holds a technical diploma in Chemistry from the Instituto Federal Fluminense (IFF) and is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences and Chemistry at the same institution. He works as a technician at the Plant Genetic Improvement Laboratory (LMGV) in the field of Plant Physiology, focusing on the integrated analysis of plant metabolism as well as post-harvest biochemistry and physiology. He provides technical support for research activities by applying both classical and instrumental analytical techniques, including UV-Vis spectroscopy for determining enzymatic activity and gas chromatography for analyzing plant metabolic products. Additionally, he is responsible for organizing and maintaining laboratory infrastructure, including the management and control of reagents, glassware, equipment, and laboratory supplies.

Ângela Barros Mota Arêas
She holds a degree in Agronomy from the Darcy Ribeiro State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro (UENF) and a technical qualification in Agriculture and Livestock Farming from the Antônio Sarlo State Agricultural School. She also holds a specialization (postgraduate certificate) in Pest Management in Agricultural Crops.
She possesses extensive experience in the environmental sector and municipal public administration, having served for 13 years as a municipal civil servant within the Municipal Department of the Environment. Throughout her career, she has gained experience in implementing and monitoring initiatives focused on environmental management, natural resource conservation, and addressing technical requirements related to rural areas and the environment.
Her experience encompasses the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR), the regularization and analysis of environmental data for rural properties, geoprocessing, and the creation of thematic maps, as well as the development and monitoring of reforestation and environmental restoration projects. Her work integrates technical expertise in Agronomy, environmental planning, and geotechnological tools applied to diagnosis, monitoring, and land-use management.
Sabiniano Samuel Araujo
He holds a degree in Business Administration from the State University of Paraíba (UEPB). During his academic career, he held leadership and institutional representation roles—including the presidency of NAPPES (the UEPB Junior Enterprise)—thereby strengthening his experience in project management, entrepreneurship, teamwork, and the development of community-oriented initiatives.
He has experience in credit analysis and formalization, customer service, business management, entrepreneurship, strategic planning in the public sector, and professional training. His professional background includes work with institutions such as Banco do Nordeste/Agro Amigo, Caixa Econômica Federal, the UNICRED credit cooperative, SENAC, IFPB, and the Government of the State of Paraíba. He currently works as an administrative technician, serving as the secretary for the Plant Genetic Improvement Laboratory (LMGV) at UENF.
Jéssica Morais Cunha Féres
Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy (2013), a Master’s degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding (2016), and a Doctorate in Plant Production with an emphasis on Plant Nutrition (2020), all from the Darcy Ribeiro Northern Rio de Janeiro State University (UENF). Currently, she serves as a Research Support Technician at LMGV in the Perennial Plant Breeding sector, focusing on passion fruit and guava crops.
